Jonathan Howard, a 40-year-old from Sussex, was implicated in a fraud case that spanned four weeks in court.
He was handed a five-year prison sentence following the court's verdict on his fraudulent actions.
Multiple Accounts
Since 2008, he managed to fabricate more than 1,000 gambling accounts at Bet365 Casino, claiming bonuses that totaled approximately £236,000. These bonuses are typically intended for new users who register with the casino.
How did the defendant manage to generate these false accounts? He utilized personal information belonging to other individuals, allowing him to establish numerous gaming identities and exploit the benefits from these multiple accounts, something not achievable with just one account.
Investigation
In 2018, Sussex police became aware of his fraudulent schemes, prompting an extensive investigation.
Authorities searched his residence, uncovering numerous bank statements and 117 SIM cards, all of which were leveraged to create multiple false identities.
The legal proceedings concluded last week, resulting in Jonathan Howard receiving a five-year prison term.
